Study trip to Holland, visiting Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Haarlem 2017

This study trip was taken during the third and final term of  studying architecture at Arts University Bournemouth because of a personal love of Holland, it's architecture and to gain further inspiration for the 'Star Coins' project. Dutch architects have always been a huge influence since discovering Herman Hertzberger's Montessori College Oost (which was visited during this trip). Aldo van Eyck has also been a big influence with his playgrounds which he designed after the war to give children safe places to play allowing them to have a positive childhood as apposed to a war torn one.

This interest has grown towards the works of Rem Koolhaus and MVRDV. These practices in particular are very inspirational due to their unique/contemporary ways of designing. This trip was the second time I have visited Holland and it was also another chance to understand what it might be like to live and work in Holland in the future. The images below show both drawings and photographs taken in Holland.
