This study trip was taken during the third and final term of  studying architecture at Arts University Bournemouth because of a personal love of Holland, it's architecture and to gain further inspiration for the 'Star Coins' project. Dutch architects have always been a huge influence since discovering Herman Hertzberger's Montessori College Oost (which was visited during this trip). Aldo van Eyck has also been a big influence with his playgrounds which he designed after the war to give children safe places to play allowing them to have a positive childhood as apposed to a war torn one.

This interest has grown towards the works of Rem Koolhaus and MVRDV. These practices in particular are very inspirational due to their unique/contemporary ways of designing. This trip was the second time I have visited Holland and it was also another chance to understand what it might be like to live and work in Holland in the future.
